Via Christi Hospital Announces Director of Public Relations(PITTSBURG, Kan. – August 20, 2010) Randy Cason, President and CEO of Via Christi Hospital, today announced Michael Hayslip accepted the position of Director of Public Relations. As Director, Michael will supervise the activities of the Community Relations Department, which includes public relations/communications, marketing, community outreach and emergency preparedness. Michael comes to Via Christi Hospital from KFJX-TV (FOX 14 TV) in Pittsburg, Kan., where he has served as Executive Producer, News Anchor and Nightside Supervisor. He begins his duties at Via Christi Hospital on August 31, 2010.
Greenbush Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is hosting their 18th annual Parents University on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at the Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium. The event will begin at 5:00 pm and will conclude at 8:00 pm. Crawford County Parents University is an evening event designed for families to provide them with information relevant to their current needs or interests. Girard Medical Center Foudation has TAX CREDITS available! Make a new gift to GMC Foundation towards their Picture Archival Communication System (PACS) and receive 70%* tax credit. PACS will take their radiology films and turn them into digital pictures. Then, physicians and off-site specialists can access the film quickly. Patients benefit from decreased response time getting their results as well as decreased overall time to be treated. *Donors will receive 90% of the full value of the credit at tax time due to a state balancing budget act. This group gives job seekers an opportunity to network job opportunities. The Pittsburg Area Job Seekers Group will meet the second and fourth Monday of each month.

BOC training is a nationally recognized competency-based program for building operators and maintenance staff who are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of large buildings with complex heating, mechanical and electrical systems. All commercial and industrial customers of Westar Energy are eligible to enroll in BOC training. Tuition for the course series is $1,150, but upon certification graduates will receive a $575 reimbursement from Westar Energy. For more information visit their website at:
